Download The Assets

- Download these files:
- You may want to create a folder titled "VPS" on your computer's desktop and move the downloaded files to the folder.
Sign In To Zoom And Start The Zoom Meeting
- Open the Zoom app from your computer's Start screen, desktop, or taskbar.
- In the Zoom app, sign in with your host credentials (if you aren't already).
- Start your meeting.
Share Slides
- Open OW.3.5-hourVPS-Slides-001.1.pptx. Do not minimize the PowerPoint window.
- In the Zoom session, select the Share Screen icon.
- In the selection window, select the thumbnail of the PowerPoint window containing EPSA-Slides-003.0.pptx, and then select the Share button.
- Zoom will move the PowerPoint window to the forefront, display a border around the PowerPoint window (if it is not maximized), and move the meeting controls to the top of the screen.
- Use PowerPoint controls as you would normally.
- Select Stop Share to end sharing.
Share the Whiteboard
This program uses one whiteboard.
- In the Zoom session, select the Share Screen icon.
- In the selection window, select the Whiteboard icon and then select the Share button.
- Zoom will open the whiteboard in the forefront, move the meeting controls to the top of the screen, and display the annotation toolbar.
- Use the tools on the annotation toolbar to add the text Challenges of Virtual Presentations to the whiteboard.
- Select the Save icon if you want to save an image of the whiteboard. Zoom will save the image on your computer in the Documents\Zoom\ folder. Zoom creates a separate folder for each meeting.
- Select the circled x to close the annotation toolbar.
- Select Stop Share to end sharing.
Create and Administer Polls
This program uses two polls—which you can find on slides 5 and 17 of OW.3.5-hourVPS-Slides-001.1.pptx.
Create The First Poll
- Open OW.3.5-hourVPS-Slides-001.1.pptx (if it isn't already open).
- In the Zoom meeting, on the toolbar, select the Polls icon.
- Select Add a Question.
- Notice that Zoom opened your web browser, opened the Edit Meeting Polls page, and opened the Add a Poll dialog box.
- Copy the poll title from slide 5 and paste into the Enter a title for this poll field.
- Copy the question from slide 5 and paste it into the Type your question here field.
- Copy the first answer from slide 5 and paste it into the Answer 1 field.
- Copy the second answer from slide 5 and paste it into the Answer 2 field.
- Copy the third answer from slide 5 and paste it into the Answer 3 (Optional) field.
- Select Save.
- Notice that, on the Edit Meeting Polls page, your poll is listed.
Create The Second Poll
- On the Edit Meeting Polls page, select Add.
- Copy the poll title from slide 12 and paste into the Enter a title for this poll field.
- Copy the question from slide 12 and paste it into the Type your question here field.
- Copy the first answer from slide 12 and paste it into the Answer 1 field.
- Copy the second answer from slide 12 and paste it into the Answer 2 field.
- Copy the third answer from slide 12 and paste it into the Answer 3 (Optional) field.
- Copy the fourth answer from slide 12 and paste it into the Answer 4 (Optional) field.
- Copy the fifth answer from slide 12 and paste it into the Answer 5 (Optional) field.
- Copy the sixth answer from slide 12 and paste it into the Answer 6 (Optional) field.
- Select Save.
- Notice that, on the Edit Meeting Polls page, your poll is listed.
Administer A Poll
- Return to the Zoom meeting window.
- In the Zoom meeting, on the toolbar, select the Polls icon.
- At the top of the Polls dialog box, select the down arrowhead to select which poll to use.
- Select Launch Polling.
- After all particpants have voted, select End Polling.
- Select Share Results to show and the results of the poll to participants.
- Select Stop Share Results when you are finished.
- Select the X in the upper right corner to close the Polls dialog box.
Send Files To Participants
The pre-program assignment instructs participants to download two files from Communispond Digital—OW.3.5hour.VPS-Participant Workbook-001.0.pdf and OW-3.5-hourVPS-Tips Card-001.pdf. If participants did not download the files before class, you may want to send them to particpants using chat.
- In the Zoom session, select the Chat icon.
- At the bottom of the Zoom Group Chat pane, in the To field, verify that Everyone is selected.
- Select the File icon.
- Select Your Computer.
- In the dialog box, find and select the file you want to send to participants, and then select Open.
- In the Zoom Group Chat pane, Zoom will display a message confirming that it sent the file successfully.
- Direct participants to download the file by selecting the filename in the Zoom Group Chat pane.
